The pleasure of these blooms has been since June, and for once we have to leave before they die. When we return the garden will be lost until Spring....but we have this image to delight in.

Loving photo memories of all kinds....  

We’ve been waiting for a year for this moment, and we thought it might never happen. So many set backs, barriers, traumas for our son @tombyrom83 and wife @anjpriz as they applied and waited for the result of their visa application. This is the best reunion I have ever experienced. You may have figured out by now that I’m a midwife...and I’ve been a midwife for most of my life (eek a sign of age). • • • I don’t catch babies now, but I catch midwives & student midwives - that doesn’t mean they’re falling - just that I share my experience & knowledge with them, if they want it! Sometimes my family & friends ask me why am still so active in the maternity world (they mean even though I’m so old 😜) Well, here’s the thing. I love it. I also feel we are getting some things very wrong, and so as well as being a huge advocate of positive support, and services based on kindness and compassion - I am an activist. My work with my like-minded midwife daughter @acbmidwife gives me the opportunity to do all these things. Being the owners of our own publication and resources has its limitations where finances are concerned, but we have autonomy, freedom of speech and oodles of love to share. We’re on it. My youngest daughter @olivia_byrom took this of me this morning checking our online @the_practising_midwife_journal flip-book journal & getting ready for a talk I’m giving in Wales tomorrow. The best part of the day is making a Fairy 🧚‍♀️ Den 🏠I am the least creative when it comes to children’s crafts - and so this is a massive effort 🤗 It’s the only time I wish I’d been a playgroup leader, a brown owl, or a primary school teacher...as being a midwife doesn’t give you skills in entertaining children 🙆🏻‍♀️ #grandies #familytime #home
I’ve been waiting patiently for this book for months. @midwifediariesellie is one of the most talented writers, even her FB posts are riveting...she’s got an incredible talent. On top of that she used to be a midwife...and continues to passionately support midwives through blogs, social media channels and through online education courses for wannabe midwives. This is a modern day midwifery fiction, and a page turner. I can’t put it down, though I’ve got my grandies for few days, so not much spare time! We have a best seller here. Launching in October, I’ve pre-ordered three copies, and I’m thrilled to get my hands on one upfront, to review..
