It was 1974. Aged 18, Blackburn Royal Infirmary. Ward 2. A blackbird nested on a patient’s windowsill, and I was asked to check on the mother and babies...First calling to become a midwife? @acbmidwife @ojbyrom #History #sepiaphotography #Nursing
I was honoured to be interviewed for this important documentary on #childbirth whilst in Australia. My comment here is aligned to my belief that many women are still not feeling safe and secure as they approach birth, and many are dissatisfied with their childbirth experience. #BirthTime
My eldest daughter who today supported me through difficult moments. @acbmidwife thank you for all that you did, and for the enormous amounts of work you are putting in to our venture. Not long now, until you are free to be yourself again. ❤️❤️❤️ Photo credit @catlamoon who is filming our exciting multimedia modules, link to our site in my bio! #Midwifery #Maternity #Learn #Share #Care ❤️❤️
What an amazing opportunity. I’ve never been to #India, but to travel there, then work with maternity services is such an honour. Lots to learn, and lots to share...❤️ #ROAR for #compassionate, #respectful #maternity care.
Reflecting on a wonderful event last week the ‘Kindness Conference’ was organised by Ellie Durant & the Bradford Midwifery Society. It was an honour to be a part of such an important day - the first of many I hope! ❤️ @acbmidwife
