Loving photo memories of all kinds....
TODAY I met up with Gemma @gemskiraffski after 18 years.... in a cafe in #Whalley —————————————-
Gemma blew me away with her energy !m& stories of her children and she established this amazing business @loulousmeringues ‘just because I had too many eggs’ she said. Take a look at her INCREDIBLE Insta account, and feel your mouth watering. 🎂 —————————————-
Loved hearing about her success - inspiring! And I’ll be visiting her shop on Sunday!
DEADLINE is here 👀 - today Soo Downe & I are submitting the manuscript for our NEW book #squaringthecircle to @pinterandmartin 📖
Reading the chapters, and learning about the research, practice and innovations from around the world has inspired me, educated me, and I can’t wait until we can share it in June ✅💥
This website has the detail of one of the inspiring projects highlighted by @suomeli @m4id - where architects, service and product designers & healthcare providers are improving childbirth outcomes and experience for women and families in low resource countries. Oh my, what incredible work - I wouldn’t have known about all this had we not created the book. —————————————-
If you want to read our book, it’s about #NormalBirth - one of my passions. Swipe left to last photo for the name of the book.
Squaring the Circle: researching normal birth in a technological age. You can preorder it now, from @pinterandmartin ❤️🙏🏽👌🏽 #maternitycare
MEMORIES that this table invokes, and the stories it could tell 🤔
It became ours by chance in 1980, when we bought our second home in Clitheroe, to be near my mum. The man who lived in house previously had been a bachelor, and the owner of a high-class haberdashery in a nearby town. Mr Hampson had died, and his family were selling all the furniture in the house, if we wanted it. Some of the pieces were grand, but not necessarily what we would choose. We didn’t have ANY spare cash, so my mum (who also had very little money) made an offer for some of the items - feeling the opportunity was too good to miss 🤗
This is a bird walnut veneer table - and became the immediate resting place for my new baby’s crib (@thejameson80) & then the babies that followed @tombyrom83 & @olivia_byrom ❤️🤱🏻 it’s been a significant part of our family! —————————————
We also purchased a very expensive traditional style burgundy sofa and chairs, with Queen Ann legs. We don’t have it now, but it sure lasted a long time - through all our children’s young lives. Thing is, whilst it wouldn’t have been our natural choice to own it if we’d had a better option, we were also put off when we found out that Mr Hampson had died in one of the armchairs 😞. Eeek. It served us well nonetheless 😊
Back into knitting with vigor. @aimee_pickles nearly there!
COUPLES sometimes run out of conversation, especially when away for a few days in each other’s pockets. So we were excited to be taught how to play some NEW card games for two 👌🏽 by William at the #shipinnnewton 🙌🏼. William taught us how to play German Whist, Last Card, and ‘Oh Hell!’
We loved his company, and we’ve made a new friend ❤️
SO now we’re FULL ON playing games and having arguments about who is cheating. And all the couples around us (on their phones) are looking a bit anxious 😦. Anyway. I think I am winning.
@bamborough_castle was spectacular...more about it in my stories 🙄
