Lovely wake up on this day with little Seamus, and Anna. Hugs together and exchanging gifts. Meaningful words....Olivia and Archie arrived mid-morning and then off to meet third born, Tom. Lunch was delicious, peaceful chats with this uncomplicated young man and we didn't need to pay! Such a treat. Then off to visit those who couldn't share the day with us. Whispers to Kathleen and Rose Marie that they were missed and loved still. Mothers, what would we really do without them? We do, but we don't.
1970 - in an Irish club in Leeds. I was 15, and with my French penpal Genevieve, and my Irish Dad’s Uncle Joe.
So check my stories and you’ll see why I shared this old photo, and why it’s significant today... #memories #penpals #france #friendship #sheenabyrom
This is my favourite car. Just spotted this outside our hotel just now. That’s because it was my very first car, and it gave me freedom when my children were small. We struggled for money, but could afford a 2CV.
We bought it when our 3rd child @tombyrom83 was small, and it revolutionised my life. I could take our 3 children to school, on picnics, and we LOVED it 🙋🏻♀️ 🚗 #citroen2cv
It was the last day of our Duchies‘ holiday in England and we roamed London again. In torrential rain ☂️ But yesterday the sun was high and we met Charlie Chaplian - one of the many FAB street performers on the South Bank. The memories we make, the tales we tell, the history we share is important to us. Hope you had as much fun as we did @minniebyrom & @quinnylewisb ❤️ #Grandies
Last night I was copied into a post on Twitter with the hashtag #whyiamamidwife started by @ruthlucie 🤱🏽
My response was -
I am a feminist and passionate about women’s human rights in childbirth. My profession & position means I can advocate for and support women and midwives alike - an incredible privilege 😊 #whyiamamidwife
If you are a midwife, what’s your response?
