Brighton
/It was just two days. First time to visit this historical holiday resort and we visited key venues including fabulous Volks electric railway and The Lanes. Highlight was speaking at conference and predicted low point family related. Pity. When will it stop? If ever....

Cherries in Ceret....
/We had a great surprise....found a Chambre de Hotes in Ceret where an old acquaintance was living! The welcome from then on from Jim and Gillie was amazing and we stayed chatting until late morning...just arrived Collioure..hotel not so good but great to write report and catch up.
Thermal cures....
/We visited this old hotel for a beer and a Ricard. It was hidden in a dell, amongst the vast mountains in the Pyrenees. This view helped us to see the thermal waters, which according to the info provided by the hotel helps to cure various illnesses....look at the handles on around the edges of the river....the water is so dirty I would think it's more likely to initiate an illness rather than cure one! Bah. Anyway, we learned two other things. The guests are called patients and the drinks are expensive...so we'll not be checking in. We found our destination and had to make a hasty retreat...looked dire. We are in our way to the 2nd option in Ceret. Fingers crossed!
Domaine St Pierre de Trapel
/Just arrived at this piece of French heaven, a three hundred year old vineyard and mason. It is warm, the sky is blue and the birds are singing. Pure bliss. Could I stay here? I certainly could. Off for a dip.....
Little Dutch travellers
/You're in your way! Sweet Minnie and Quentin we can't wait to hold you x
Lilac
/You only stay for a short time, and like special guests who come to visit your presence brings delight and departure some dismay. But I know that you will return each year to brighten just one week, and to fill the garden with intoxicating aromas.
Loyality
/Loyalty means not that I agree with everything you say or that I believe you are always right. Loyalty means that I share a common ideal with you and, regardless of minor differences, we fight for it, shoulder to shoulder, confident in one another's good faith, trust, constancy and affection.

Primrose
/You always seem to know the things I don't...pointing them out to me as we go. You an only child for a good while and me the youngest of five girls. So time had been spent passing down knowledge, and now you share it with me. 'Primroses' you said.
Heaven
/Beauty, quiet, nature, talking, walking, eating, laughing, culture. A night and day at the Inn at Whitewell. Heaven. So much thanks to Anna, James, Tom and Olivia x

Midwife Memories
/It's all getting exciting. The stories are building up and memories are being told at a fine pace. I am remembering things long forgotten and the lovely Charlotte seems to like listening! Last evening I met with Tina, Joan, Cheryle and Pam and we reminisced about long gone days at Bramley Meade. The best years, we all agreed. I was born as a midwife at BM. So much more to tell...will it ever be finished?
Mothers Day
/Tragedy
/I came across this on another's blog. What an utter tragedy. Reading the testimonies to Kate, I think I would have liked her.
Two on a bike
/The Netherlands never fails to enthral me. Life revolves round the fiet, or bicycle. And it is captivating to watch whole families travel together with utter ease.

James told me.....
/'Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Best ever....

For all those, like me, that were brought up Roman Catholic. And for the extra special bit....if you have an Irish family! Absolute classic. We love these little voices, taken from real tapes found years later by a parish priest. Just listen. Amazing, amazing.Whalley to Settle...

First big ride of the year meant we could stretch stiff limbs, breathe Spring air, hear bird sing (love it) and catch the first glimpse of newly born lambs. The only blip was the intrusion of the motor bikes..sound that destroys the meaning of bliss. The rest was heaven, soon to be repeated!
Minnie goes up....
/My lovely Dutch granddaughter is learning how to climb with Papa....so strong and fearless! And speaking English too...what larks! Well done Minnie, we can't wait to see you next week...
